I have had six consecutive days off, which is rare in my line of work
and probably bodes ill for the future, but it gave me time to knock out
some projects that I have been neglecting. First and foremost, I
finally started our blog, an obvious statement since you are now reading
said blog but let's just ignore that.
I finished our new organizational board! Not too bad for my first time using painter's tape to mark off a pattern. Can't take the credit for this awesome idea, I found it here. I did put a few Katie-touches on it. I used these adorable little mustache clips to hold who knows what and I attached the frames with Velcro in case we want to change some things out. It turned out to be a fun project and the hubby loves it! Maybe I will do something cute to that can soon so it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb.
I also knocked out a wreath for our front door. RJ has been wanting me to make one for about a year and I am really pleased with the result. I bought a bundle of sticks from from Micheals as well as a round of burlap. I used the paint from the organizational board to paint the G and channeled my crafty mother to fashion the bow. Simple twine binds the sticks in the square shape and a little hot glue holds it all together. It adds a welcoming touch to the house!
Besides knocking out some crafts, I have had tons of time to spend with the hubs. He hasn't been lucky enough to stay home from work but being able to actually see each other has really lowered our stress level. Date night last night was a rare occurrence but something we needed. Dinner at the Hibachi Grill and Thor 2 is about as date nighty as Great Falls lets us be, but I'll take it.

The rest of the day was filled with errands, with us running from Autozone to Joanns and every where in between. After days of trying to get there I finally went to the library. I have been dying to grab a book to help me figure out my sewing machine. And yes, before you ask, I bought a sewing machine without knowing how to use it...sometimes I just get excited despite all logic. As luck would have it, they have TONS of books for dummies, I mean women, just like me and after I embarrassingly paid my fine I walked out with a something to get me started. We also found an awesome cocktail book, which we are dying to look through. Lately we have been choosing new cocktails off the Cocktail Spirit, which is full of videos on how to create the perfect drink, so I guess this will save us searching through his site for hours....which I'm sure we will still do!
This evening I wrapped up my books for my book exchange. I can't wait for my partner to get her books. I hope she loves them as much as I did and it will be fun to have someone to discuss them with. I won't put the names of the books up here until after the exchange, just in case she checks out the blog before they get to her!
All in all, not a bad week in the life of the Grimleys!
